Poll Results: Salaries

In our first poll, survey takers reported results a bit different to NAGC's first Trends and Salaries Survey. Fifty-three percent reported they believed their salaries were comparable to colleagues from across the country. Fifteen percent said their salaries were above average and 30% said their salaries were below average.

In NAGC's survey of government communicators last year, 42 percent reported their salaries were below average, 40 percent said their salaries were on average and about four percent said their salaries were above average.

This annual survey and report is just one of the new benefits developed for NAGC members as part of a major initiative to improve the professional careers and skills of its members, as well as raise the image and value of the profession itself. NAGC President Gene Rose did a masterful job on the survey itself, and then produced a truly reader-friendly analysis and report. The report itself can be downloaded by NAGC members for FREE on its Web site, www.nagconline.com or purchased by anyone in hard copy. For more information about the report, please visit the NAGC web site. Highly recommended reading for those in the field.

Thanks NAGC for compiling such beneficial and enlightening information about my profession, one that is changing so rapidly. Eye-opening statistics--and some very positive information, as well. Good to know where we stand with our peers. I'm sure I'll refer to this study frequently. Thanks for a great job, Mr. Rose!

Why doesn't the NAGC make it available to the public?

NAGC's board of directors chose to make this report available to its members, who pay dues. For those who are not members, but are interested in the results, we priced the report at only $19, to make it easily accessible. Highlights of the report may be found on this blog and also a press release, available on our home page at www.nagconline.org.
